Which is better - 100 or 98 degrees

I keep having trouble getting my Eco 20 temp just right - it comes back to 100 (where it is now), or if I adjust it, back to 98.
I'm thinking 100 -am I wrong?

I took mine out of the box and it has held 100.2. I have not adjusted the temp control because I am very satisfied with 100.2. That, I do not believe, constitutes high temperatures that will lead to early hatches. 98 may be too low.
