Which is better? Pellets or crumbles?

I feed the starter/grower which is crumbles until age 17-18 and then straight to pellets..they make such a mess with the crumbles and I don't like waste.

I used to use the crumbles but then someone told me that feeeding the pellets was less waste. I mixed them until they got used to them and now use the pellets for my big grown chickens as I feed them the grower/finisher and not layer food.

Like the two previous post( both from my state!) I feed grower crumbles up to about 14-16 weeks then start mixing with pellets and have no trouble at all feeding all pellets. In my area the cost is about the same for each and does seem like less waste with the pellets. Table scraps are a special treat and they don't waste a thing!

I use crumbles when they start laying - my picky chickens want eat the pellets - I tried

My chickens start sneezing if I feed them anything powdery...so I use pellets. They don't waste it either like they were doing with the other stuff.

This kind of a "paper or plastic" question. It depends on you and what you want. Like most of the above, I feed grower crumbles until they started to lay then went to layer pellets because I find I they waste less than the few times I used mash--the only other choice from my local feed store. If they decided they didn't want to eat pellets, tough, they had to learn to like them or starve. Believe me, they won't starve.
