Which natural disaster scares you more, and why?
I myself am scared silly of Earthquakes. Why, Because you have no warning, can't just hide or move inland, and the thought of the Earth openin' up and swallowing me whole, scares the Bejesus out of me!

Me too. No warning, no place safe to go, buildings falling on top of you, aftershocks. I like nice, stable ground beneath my feet.

My brother lives in SF Bay area and I told him I would never go visit him as long as he lives there. I have no desire to be anywhere near the San Andreas fault.

Earthquake

Live on a hill, if we flood, we all have major problems.

No real tornados, or hurricanes. No fires like so cal.



The Cascadia Subduction Zone is straight off the coast, it will be a real humdinger when it unzips.

I hope I am not on the freeway, or at the coast when it goes. There is sure to be a major tsunami.

We are probably good for a hunder years, at which time I will not be nearly as worried

Right On! Thats what I think too! They said during the last "Big One" The Mississippi River ran backwards! They also say that the Ohio River will be rerouted as well! Evansville is on the Ohio! It'll probally flow right through what would be once my living room!

Those are all girly natural disasters, the nasty one is the super volcano in Yellowstone park. If that goes it will take most of the US and other countries with it. Will destroy a lot of animals and plant life to.

Just an FYI there was a magnatude 1.5 Earthquake on the New Madrid fault on 3/14/2010. Hope that makes you feel a little better.

Tornadoes....been scared of them since I was little and I still get freaked out with dark/very windy storms. Never had one occur here, and I hope one never does...but some do happen not too far from us. I hate them

I have lived through: earthquakes, hurricanes, flooding, ice storms, brush fires and tornadoes...
they all scare me, but I have to say tornadoes scare me the most, probably due to the early age at which they were introduced...
followed closely by fires, that's my #1 fear. I can not/ do not want to even think about dying by fire
