. It's a good thing that there have been small quakes on the New Madrid Fault. It means that it is releasing pressure. I really was trying to make you feel better. Earthquakes scare the heck out of me too. I have to cross several bridges on my way to work. If there was a bad enough earthquaKke, I wouldn't be able to get home to my kids (both human and critter).

I think the same way you do, about crossing bridges, and getting to my kids! I think we have to have so many little quakes in a certain time frame for it to do any good. I don't know, I'd think anything like that would help. I just hope were not next in line for "the big one" There were 3 more big quakes worldwide in the last 2 days. This is really starting to worry me.

Rarely does the earth "open" up and swallow people, in an earthquake. It's the land slides, fires and floods caused by an earthquake that kill people. The number one natural disaster that kills more people is landslides. You who are on top of the mountain and you at the bottom are both at risk.
The natural disaster that scares me the most is man, and what scares me more is not the first death, it's the second death.

Lightning makes me pretty twitchy, having had some close calls with it.

But yes, what worries me most is how people react and respond.

We don't have landslides here, but that would have to be second for me, because there isn't warning, and again the whole being buried alive scares me to death!

Mine is a man made epidemic. A virus we have created or caused to be created. Our whole world can be effected by one really strong virus. Food and mendical supplies dwindle causing riots and looting death rates from crimes increase. Basically one virus can distroy the way we live now.

Definately tornados!!! I have had nightmares about them all my life, a couple times a year.

Growing up in Tampa Bay FLA hurricanes never frightened me because there is a warning ... but not so with tornadoes. I have seen the aftermath of random tornados and it is very destructive. I have seen how (the aftermath not the actually tornado) they jump from street to street missing a house here and there and totally destroying others - no rhythm or reason.

and lately it just seems ALOT of natural disasters scare me, landslides, wild fires, floods,quakes,Katrina hurricane ect. ect. .... because they just seem so random and we have zero control over them.
