Which of these breeds would you recommend?

This isn’t on your list but Black Sex links are great consistent layers, mine laid every day even in snow. I have never owned the breeds on your list, though.
I got some black sex links last spring they are the Bossiest and nosiest Chickens I have ever had LOL and they are always getting in trouble !

LOL they sure are!! They have a ton of personality and I don't know about yours but mine follow me around the yard and are always under foot while I'm doing chores LOL!!
So is mine! Any accessories i have like a hair tie on my arm, a watch, anything, she gets very mad and starts ripping it off my arm and holding on kicking her feet in the air a bunch of times (like how roosters fight)

We are considering adding a couple of more chickens to our flock and are considering breeds that are consistent and great layers (good personality is a bonus). These are the ones we are considering:
-Barred Rock
-White Leghorn
-Isa Brown
-Golden Comet

Which would you recommend?

They would be joining a Rhode Island Red, Buff Orpington, Light Brahma, Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex & Black Australorp.
I have all of those breeds and would recommend all of them. They all get along well with my RIR, SLW, light Brahma and australorp.

As far as well known layers go, I have BR, RIR and NHR. I also have an olive egger who lays very well and is super quirky. But I only have one, so I can't really compare her to many other olive eggers. Lol. I love my barred rock, but she is fiesty. However, I believe that's just her. We love her for it. But she is far from my calmest. She's very bold. My NHR is very inquisitive and friendly.

I had short listed RIR, but decided against due to the reputation being too bossy with the other breeds.
Yes, they are bossy, but isn't there something just adorable about a bantam feather duster who has no way of inflicting any real pain who thinks SHE is boss of everything? I had one who tried to bossy around a full size Tom (turkey) who was huge even for his species. I kept having to scoop her up before he snapped her like an random twig. Honestly he was confused by her too, but he would have killed her just the same. (And shy would fight me when I would sweep her to safety. She would squawk and squirm like she thought she could win that fight!)

I agree the Leghorns have health issues, but they are so sweet and loving, I wouldn't trade those 3 years with them for anything.

Honestly... Does breed matter? You'll end up loving them no matter their heritage 💖

My beloved barred rock passed away early at 7 months with some reproductive issues, which can happen to any bird. It is more likely with high production breeds, not heritage birds like a barred rock…

She was such a sweet girl. I still have her sister and she’s fun to watch but not much for cuddles. Barred rocks don’t lay as much as you think, she’ll lay consistently doing spring and summer but stops during molting season, which again is normal. Your higher production breeds will lay throughout winter.
