Which of these breeds would you recommend?

I love the ISA Browns. Very gentle chickens.

There are variations from what I have seen from my neighbour's batches of rescue ISAs. I guess being rehomed birds factors in as well. The first two batches they were not super interested in socialising with humans, but the last batch, the sweetest and friendliest little things, so cute.

Get all of the ones you picked - chickens don't live forever, and to me a healthy flock is one in which new birds come in, and older birds move on. I like a mixed flock. I have had all the birds named and liked them.

What is a huge influence in chicken behavior is space. You would be close to doubling your flock, no matter what you choose. So do you really have that much room?

We are considering adding a couple of more chickens to our flock and are considering breeds that are consistent and great layers (good personality is a bonus). These are the ones we are considering:
-Barred Rock
-White Leghorn
-Isa Brown
-Golden Comet

Which would you recommend?

They would be joining a Rhode Island Red, Buff Orpington, Light Brahma, Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex & Black Australorp.

Try Javas. We have both Mottled and Black. They are an American Heritage breed that is duel purpose. I have 20 hens right now and get 6-8 eggs a day. In the spring it will pickup to about 16 eggs a day. Some of my hens will get broody, but not all.

I've loved my golden comets, they are so friendly, my 4 year old can handle them. Great layers too. I have gotten one a day from most of them every day since they started laying. Nice big brown eggs. The best layers in my flock by far. ( I don't have any of the other breeds you mentioned)

My Barred Rock rooster so far is very nice (he is over 7 months old). My barred rock hen is very nice too.

I have 5 golden comets and am very happy with egg production and friendliness. They haven't missed a beat this winter meaning they are still laying with no supplemental light
