None of ours have been especially noisy with their regular egg song. Once in a great while one of the girls will go on for a bit, instead of doing just the short announcement. I always go outside then. It's always been a situation where the flock is out of sight and she can't find them. I guess that's the disadvantage to having more area for them to roam in and having buildings blocking their view. Just greeting the noisy chicken and talking to her usually stops the extended song. I usually bring a few seeds as a diversion, too, in case she's really on a roll and has herself all worked up. We look around for a minute, locate the flock and she runs over to them. Or, I call them all over to the patio for a snack and they reunite there.
I'm really glad that none of my girls starts up, just because somebody else laid an egg! That would get really noisy in a hurry. I know some people have that situation, too. Yikes.
Now, at all other times, Alice is definitely my noisiest chicken. She just has more to say, conversationally, going about her day. She's a real complainer, when she wants a snack, too! OMG she can go on and on, until you put out!
