i'm going to breed my rooster Tanaga, a sumatra rooster, to one of my hens. i intend to use the cross as a base of a new breed.

the 2 hens i'm not sure who Tanaga should breed with are a light brahma, and a GLW

which one should i breed?

what is your ideal bird for the new breed ? personally I think a gold laced sumatra would be spectacular

yes it would make it wider at first but you keep selecting for the long tail trait and you would get there eventually. can you put both hens with the roo ?

i suppose i could.

for the new breed, i'm aiming for a long tailed, good layer backyard bird. one that is very friendly.

its too bad i can only use my chickens for breeding right now. i'd really like to use one of my friends cochins
