Which Roo?

Lavender Orpington, B/B/S Orpington or Welsummer! They are all large fowl and they are make a very great Roo in flocks. A Lavender Roo would throw. Lav gene, BBS Orp would throw many colors and shades, and. Welsummer could possibly throw a dark egg gene on regular brown egg layers possibly white layers as well. All have no aggressive actions and have great personalities!

I vote columbian wyandotte. They run away a lot, join in the fun, and are nice. I got mine when they were chicks (supposed to be hens, no roos where I live!

). But turned out to be roos... So we had to give them away.

rhode island red roos from what i have been told are nasty. I dont know much about chickens but I think our amerucana roo is a sweetie

Just pm your address for test roosters. No returns necessary.

But seriously, it depends on the size hens you want to put him with. You would not want a super heavy breed if your girls are small. And even though it would be comical, you would not want a pocket size rooster if you girls are from a very large breed.

Color would be the other factor. Are you looking for a flashy boy or an average fellow?

The most important though is personality. After all nobody likes a meany, unless he is dressed for dumplings.

I have a good Wyandotte that is a gentleman with his girls. He is black, from a group of Blue, Black, Splash Wyandottes.
A Silkie Partridge who is cuddly.
A Wheaten Ameraucana who is on the small side. (Candy who is his hatchmate is bigger.)

My extras are Lester's son who is also black and 9 weeks old. Pepper a splash Wyandotte at 4 weeks old who is also Lester's son. One buff Silkie mix boy that I got from Tractor Supply who is about 16 weeks.

well i am convincing my dad that we need chickens, if we could get those instead of quail. Now the ones we would get would be Dark Cornish, Dominique, Delaware. So which roo would be like perfect?
