Which to get - Barred Rocks or Easter Eggers?

You won't be disappointed,I've had both. If I had a choice right now I'd go with the BR. I have EE's right now but the eggs on average are small, they won't let the kids pick them up,and do go broody sometimes. They are both suited for heat and cold. You'll get more eggs, bigger eggs on a daily basis with the BR's. The novelty of the colored egg wears off soon because of the size and quanity you get. Will

I have BR (never been broody two years old now) and EE. All equally friendly. I wanted a variety of birds so I only ordered good layers, good cold climate birds. I have BR, WR, Black Austrolaup, EE adding SLW, GLW this year. McMurray has good discription of layer or check the breed link here. I have not been disappointed yet.

I just ordered the 25 EE yesterday. I have had both EE and BR. Like them both. But I love the colored eggs and a variety

in my cartons. I have had a broody BR she was a good momma.

If you were near me I would swap some EE for BR.

I also marked the box that said substitutions are ok. So maybe I will get a few of a different kind.

What ever you get you will probably just want more and different kinds.

Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree. . . My BR is the friendliest, most curious, and probably the smartest of the bunch. . . what a great personality!

Who you ordering from? Most give the same price for thier Pullet Pack/Brown Egg Laying Assortment etc.. That way you usually end up with 4 or 5 different breeds, and a nice assortment.
