Moon shook her long pelt trying to get rid of the hot, sticky feeling in her fur. "So, where are we planning on going?" she asked. Almost normally.
“Wherever we can find prey,” he mewed, “that is why you suggested we should hunt, right? For the tribe.” He smiled slightly, knowing he probably shouldn’t of teased her like that.

Moon laughed softly. "Right, well where do you think there's prey," she laughed shouldering him.
Usually he would’ve flinched away from any other cat doing this, except his mother, Dahlia, and, although his pelt grew slightly hot at her touch, it felt right. “Where the undergrowth is thickest,” he mewed.

"Okay," said Moon swishing her tail back and forth. "Well, how about the old twoleg barn, no two legs been there in years and I bet the prey is thriving," she offered.

Once the pair had reached the barn Moon caught scent of a mouse. She signaled to Leopard that it was in the haystack and crept forward stealthy. Her tail swished back and forth silently to obtain the correct balance. Moon got closer and closer to the loose haystack and finally pounced in going in the pile head first like a fox hunting in the snow. She later came out with a plump mouse in her jaws. She dropped it near leopards feet. "I'm better at fighting," she shrugged then laughed shaking off the hay that clung to her long fur. "This is going to take forever to groom out!"

At camp there is a sound echoing through the boulders. Like a V8 motor trying to idle with a clogged up carburetor, Cherrys deep purrs thrummed steadily. Sand was crawling all over his much larger companion, letting his ratlike paws grasp deep into her plush fur. She lay blinking slowly with delight. He just kept muttering "I love, love, love, love you up so!" Into the clean, fluffy mass of fur. A few yards away Lightnings withered form still lay sprawled in the grass, shivering with cold and hunger. Rumble had followed the others to the barn in search of prey.

“Nice catch.” He laughed too, “I’m okay at hunting, but prefer fighting. It comes naturally to me.” But as he said this, his mind couldn’t help flitting back the memories of training with his father, without knowing it his claws were flexing in and out of his massive paws.
