"Not trusting any rogue, not even Ember's mate," Drops said gruffly. "Not after what happened with 'Love that Shines in Eyes.'"
Drops spat her name and scratched the den floor.

Mint sighed and nodded, “That was..... horrible to say the least. He’s an odd cat and I think that it’ll be a long time before we trust him. Maybe never but she does. Love was horrible but at the end at least she kind of regretted it. I heard that Petal wants to train to be healer, what do you think of that?”

"Really? Well that's good. I was wondering when Heron was going to take someone on. A little worried about how our leadership will be then, though," Drops replied.

"Now I have to go help Ice. You can stay in with Meadow." Heron walked out of the den. His mother didn't seem to limp badly, but he could sense that she was in pain.
"The water will clean up the wounds," Heron reassured Ice.
