"I've been here all along," she chirped smoothly as her tail whipped to and fro- body language that would normally be interpreted for brewing aggression. Who knew what it said for her, though.
Wind's eyes followed the whipping tail, slowly narrowing, back and forth. "Hm," he grunted.

"Ah, and she's back! Wonderful!" Wind exclaimed. He wondered what this strange cat thought about the whole... might he say... adventure.

"There weren't any great fish out there anyways," Frog supplied. He prided himself as an excellent fisher, and the only fish he had found bigger than a minnow was a frog. Even the fish that cats did catch were rather small and wan. The longest was only half the length of his foreleg.
Embers nodded and turned to Cricket, "What do you think?"

Fire nodded to Frog, an excellent fisher and muttered, "I don't have to eat..."

Bat and Lone both shook their heads, worry in their eyes. "Should we leave? Not many cats want us here...."

Embers pressed to Bat and muttered, "Then I'd leave with you."

"Yes you do," Frog said. He didn't have opinions on many things, but he did believe that a good, hardworking hunter should eat. After all, Fire had caught a fish. He had none. He wondered if anyone would eat the frog. He was mostly surviving off of frogs, and there was more where that came from. Most of the other cats were disgusted.
But even Frog couldn't make himself eat the one with an extra eye he had found the other day. Heron had glared at it like it was a bad omen.

Fire shook his head, nervous. The prey pile was still low and not even fishing had helped.

Petal stood up and trotted over, eyes bright. "This is more food than we've had in days. We might go to sleep hungry but every cat will eat. I think that we ought to try hunting in twolegplace. Trying new places has been a success so far," sh pointed her tail to the prey pile, "We should send Lone and Bat since they know their way around. Fire and some other fighters. A good bit of hunters and we're set."

Drops' eyes darkened. "I'll go wherever the Tribe requires, but I don't trust those two." His tail twitched as he glanced quickly at Lone in Bat. The new tom was lean, but he had some muscle. None of the kittypets he'd ever seen looked like that. Even the rare Wanderer was slight.

Petal cocked her ears and mewed, "How about probation? One cat who watches them all the time, not in the dirt place but everywhere else. Until they prove their loyalty but as far as I have heard you should be grateful. Lone saved Wind from being dog food as he called it." She tried not to show her slight unease of Drops, he seemed to be acting unusually aggressive, even for Drops. Bat could fight sure but two cats could hardly take them out an ether already defeated the rogues.

Drops stood, tail twitching, considering her words. He may have been stubborn, but he had an admirable capacity to listen when he wanted to, even if he only did it to find fault in the other's words. Most toms ignored other cats. "I suppose..." he said. He didn't particularly like Wind, but Bird was ok, and he certainly didn't want to find out that either was dead. And the tom had displayed his strength and bravery in a way Drops was unsure he could pull off himself.
"But wouldn't it put a strain on us if we picked a cat who could be potentially useful to us? Unless... no." His ears curled as he dismissed the idea.

"Well, two fighters would be chosen, since hunters are greatly needed right now. I think that you would do well to watch Lone. You'd keep a close eye on him since you're mistrustful. I think that Fire will watch Bat."

Drops eyes widened as he realized he had walked right into the "babysitting" task. "Great," he said, his gruff tone suppressive of his sarcasm.
