"Okay... I believe you. I think." Maddy stood, "So the voices... they've always been ghosts?"
Beatrix grinned, "Always. You're not schizophrenic. That doesn't mean nobody is though. Most people are nuts."

(I'll be honest: I try not to burst out laughing when I read it. But it's WAY better than anything I could come up with!)

"AAHH! SORRY!" Ezekiel shouted as the sword hit her arm. He had only a split second to think as her sword flashed and shot towards him. He leaned back; trying to fall fast enough to avoid the blade. Not fast enough.
Alys withdrew the blade as quickly as it came in contact with his skin, startled by the outburst. She leapt back, eyes wide.

Ezekiel hit the ground with a thud. "Ooofff!" he cringed. He forced himself to roll over and quickly stand up; biting his lip with pain. 'Somebody needs to invent a softer version of concrete,' he thought.

"Your shoulder -You're bleeding!" he said. "I'm so sorry; I didn't mean to hit you. Are you okay"

(Hey stupid! In what kind of sword fight do you not try to hit the opponent?)

"What would happen if I went with you?" Maddy tucked her long bangs behind her ear. They really needed to be cut.
"I'd take you to the headquarters of SILENCE, where you'd be trained to kill ghosts and poltergeists. You'd risk your life almost every day. You'd retain the ability to Hear and eventually you'd learn to See." said Beatrix, tugging on a pigtail.

(I concur.)

Alys tried not to laugh, "Of course I'm fine. You're bleeding too, you know. And this is a sword fight. Are you going to apologize to the ghosts when you kill them?" She couldn't help but grin.

"Well, no... But I'm not actually trying to hurt you either. I mean I didn't mean to... I hate hurting other people. Espesc- um, lets go get some bandages on that wound of yours." Ezekiel replied.

Alys blinked, "It's just a scratch. Especum what?"

(Alys, you're cruel. You know exactly especum what.)

(Oh snap... That's not what I meant to say... *Especially* was what I meant.)

That somehow makes it funnier. Did you want to edit or continue the way it is?)
