Hi folks! I'm wondering if y'all can take a look and let me know if you think my girls should take a trip to the vet. Their behavior and egg laying is totally normal, but the appearance of their combs has me a little worried. Here's what I'm noticing:
- the two Buff Orpingtons combs sometimes seem a little pale, but never flat or dried out. They also seem to have some whitish areas and recently summer of the tips on one of their combs turned white (see photo)
- My Easter Egger has developed little black spots on her comb. It doesn't really ever look pale like the other girls. I'm working from home and watch them quite a bit and I don't ever see them pecking at each other.

The girls are almost a year old at this point so this is their first winter here in Longmont, CO. Any advice would be much appreciated!

It looks like some dry winter skin, and some pecking marks. The white tips could be some mild frostbite. I wouldn’t use anything on the combs as long as winter temperatures are going below freezing.
