Hi Folks, we've gone back to my husband's parents house for the weekend (who are currently looking after our flock while we get the new house sorted), and we noticed that one of our hens has a white almost scaly thing happening around her eyes. Unfortunately she's our most skittish and shy hen so we can't get very close at the moment to check it out - hopefully the photos might be useful... Does anyone have any ideas what it could be. She seems to be acting fine and isn't itching them, but it just doesn't look right!
Any thoughts would be appreciated, she's just finished her moult and is a silver laced barnvelder.

Welcome To BYC

You'll have to wait until she's roosting at night, then grab her for examination.

Hard to tell what's going on there. Could be dry skin, Favus, Face Mites or possibly dirt...

If you are unable to tell when you grab her and get a better look, then take some clear photos with good lighting, we may be able to make some suggestions.
