My nearly 3 week old gosling, TanTan sounds like she has a bit of the sniffles today.
I went in to check them this morning, and she didn't seem quite as hyperactive as usual. She and DaPengyou had eaten all their food overnight and everything, but when I stood fairly close to them, I could hear her breathing.
It looks like she is not breathing more rapidly than normal, it just looks like it takes more effort to get a good breath in. I can see the front of her chest flexing everytime she breathes in. When she breathes in, it only sounded"gurgly" once, then she shook her head and I'm not sure if it was water/spit or thin snot, but some clear, watery substance sprinkled on my arm. After that, she just makes a stuffy, muffled whistling sound when she breathes in.
I'm concerned about whether or not I should medicate. I REALLY do not want my baby geese to get sick, and there is definitely something stuffing up her nose. Please tell me what I should do for her, what medicine I should use, how I should dose, etc. If I need to go buy something, I will go get it this evening as soon as I find out what I need. Thank you in advance for the help.
