A very large, very angry cockerel disliked being handled on such a hot day.... He had saw his pen mates be caught one by one till it was his turn. I got him by one leg and before I could catch the other, he caught me.... With those big legs, cornish ain't play'n!

2016 White Cornish.... Some of these will be added to the breeders next year. This is one pen of two that passed the first round of cuts. 13 to 16 weeks old now....

I butchered 10 more white cornish yesterday... This group was 16 weeks old . 30 qt pot full of chicken parts again....

Looks like I have 17 left for the freezer before its all said and done for this year... Feed bill go'n down all the time!
 
Thanks Dave, it's been very hot and humid the last couple of weeks here. High 90's and "feels like" index well above 100. Birds just stand around and pant like a dog. I believe it has effected their growth. I weighed two of the 10 I butchered, alive right after I removed them from the pen... One was 5lb,13oz. The other was 6 lb 7oz... All came from the same pen....
