You can see from my profile the breeds of chickens I have. I have one 1.5 year old BR, the others are about 9 months old. All have been laying consistantly since Aug/Sep. Although production droppped significantly (from an avg of 8/day to 2/day) just after our first cold spell, the number of eggs returned to almost normal after a short spell. We had moderate temps and all was well until this past week. We had another several day cold spell. Egg production is down to just one or two a day for 11 layers. Here's the wierd and unexplainable. All of my birds lay varying degrees of brown eggs. Except the two from today are WHITE, well almost white. Has anyone experienced this? Reasons?

I'd say it was from one of your buff orpingtons. Their eggs are light brown, and maybe the egg missed the color factory.

Is your high school sweetheart playing tricks on you? lol

Yep, same here - never had an explanation. I get one white egg every few weeks from otherwise brown egg layers. I currently have two brown leghorns that are 7 weeks old - I'm looking forward to getting a few white eggs mixed in regularly with the brown ones once they start laying.
