I’m interested in hatching chicks. I was hoping to cross my white leghorn roo with my ameurucanas. Does anyone have experience with this? Will the eggs still be colored? Would they still have the fluffy beards? I was just curious about traits and things...

I know this isn’t quite what you asked so apologies but I had a couple Lavender Orpington/Easter Egger mixes and they both had muffs and beards, one more so than the other, so I would think this cross would too! I never got to see what color they laid but white and blue should just produce a lighter blue. ❤️

Thank You! This was more comprehensive than I usually find!

You will get pretty much what My Pet Chicken call "Super blue egg layer" the Ameraucana based ones, not the crested legbar based ones
If you're using pure Ameraucana all offspring will be pale blue layers with beards smaller than the Ameraucana.
All chicks will have one copy of the dominant white so will be white birds with black leakage (spots).
The large blue eggs in the bottom carton are from a similar breeding. I don't have Ameraucana but I do have Australian standard Araucana which are like Ameraucana, but also crested.
