White Leghorn doesn't lay very often?

I was under the impression that white leghorns were egg-laying machines, laying most days in their youth. But our WL has been laying for several weeks, but still only 3-4 days per week, often skipping 2-3 days between eggs, then laying a couple days in a row. Our same-aged isa browns are laying every single day now, and I had the impression that the leghorn would be like that, or close. We feed layer crumbles, supplement with oyster shell, allow evening free-ranging (several hours), and they all seem like very happy, sweet, friendly, curious, contented ladies. Why is the Leghorn not laying very often?

Poor Maude!! No wonder it's taken her a while. That's a huuuuuuuuge egg! Poor little girl.
