White Plymouth Rock - Is it a rooster?

Thanks, everyone! I really need to hear good things about roosters right now. I worked so hard to plan and prepare for the chickens and I figured I would give away any that turned out to be roos. But I just don't want to part with Penny. (Guess it's time to pic out a new name for "Penelope".)

Most positively a Roo, had 4 just like him. My last one who just died this week was really to big for my hens, he was about ten pounds. He was a fierce watch dog over his girls, always safe and always fed.

I'm a bit anxious about having a roo. Yours were good additions to your flock?

We also bought 2 White Plymouth Rock roosters and 2 hens. One of the hens, like you, turned out to be a rooster (see pics). I am convinced your photo depicts a rooster just like ours. The 3 of them roam happily together with 9 WPR hens but when the pens are built, it will be 1R to 3H's.

I'm personally not familiar with that breed, but it sure looks like a roo to me. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Maybe I'm wrong, though. :) If you do have a roo, at least he is a friendly one!
