white recesive color

This may sound stupid. but could someone explain white recessive.Is it just a white chicken?

It is a white chicken that carries two ii genes. It is unable to express pigment and is, thus, fully white.

ii - recessive white, inability to express color
Ii - homozygous ability to express color
II - dominant, ability to express color

c is the symbol for recessive white.

Would it be possible to get recessive white in a standard wyandotte. If so what colors would have to breed together. Thinking about trying something different. Not really getting the whole genetic thing quite yet.

 

[Sonoran Silkies]

Not sure of other breeds, but silkies are usually recessive white, so if you breed a white silkie into your birds, then breed the offspring together and select against the silkie feathering and comb and for white and wyandotte traits.

You could also use a different breed where whites are usually recessive white.
