White Rhode Island or Cross between Leghorn and Bresse

:welcome :frow Not a Rhode Island White or a White Leghorn. I raise both. Probably a mix. True Rhode Island whites have a Rose Comb. It could be from a Rhode Island White cross.
Here is a father son RIW and a White Leghorn. Good luck and have fun...

So the white leghorn is the one with the long tail? I can't see if his ear lobes are white. My white chicken's tail is the same as the first two photos, but he has a straight comb.

Not a Leghorn maybe a Leghorn mix. The pictures I posted above, the first two pictures are Rhode Island Whites, Lucky and Shemp. The bottom picture is of one of my Leghorn males. At a show early this year I purchased a trio of White Leghorn pullets. One of the pullets turned out not to be pure and I got different colored chicks from her. She looked like a Leghorn but I noticed she had a little pink in her earlobes so I knew she had something else in her and her chicks proved it. I sold them to someone that wasn't interested in breeding them and only wanted them for their eggs. Here is a picture of one of the chicks and those females with one of my males. Some of the chicks that hatched had Single Combs and some had Rose Combs from what was supposed to be a pure Leghorn. I do also raise Rose Comb Dark Brown Leghorns. Some Leghorns are Rose Comb but they aren't as common. The fellow I got the birds from was supposed to be a Leghorn breeder but when I purchased these I did notice he had a Rose Comb in with them that had the body shape of a Leghorn with a Rose Comb. He said he was working on a project with Rhode Island Whites so I think there was an oops. Not many people breed them. At one time I was about the only RIW breeder. I have sent eggs all over the country to give people a start with the breed.
