White RIR!

I have seen many eggs for sale online and many chicks for sale at feed stores and so far all of them have single combs and look alot like white rocks. At the little fair I judged last year I saw some 'rhode island whites' and marked them as wrong breed because they looked nothing like a rhode island white or even a RIR.

Ideal sells them, but I don't know how good the quality is.

That is not a Rhode Island White, it's a White Plymouth Rock. Rhode Island Whites are rose combed only not single combed. Type is also all wrong.

I got some eggs from a man about a month or so ago and I had some RIW's in there. I hatched out 12 I think, and I didn't know they were so rare and sold them all last week. i am going after somemore eggs tomorrow and there are supposed to be some RIW's in this batch as well. I will keep them this time!!!

The Rhode Island White is not quite as widespread as the RIR so you might not get quite as good of a bird, but I have never bought them, so there may be some really good strains out there.

These are from show birds and I know the chicks I had were really pretty and healthy.
