What do chickens do that have never seen snow?
Well they taste it first!

Buffy and Ms. P'Cock were not willing to set foot outside into the snow, but they at least decided to taste test it.

Then Ms. P'Cock decided she liked it better than her water!!

They still haven't come out of their coop in 2 days-We had 6" of snow here in Atlanta-BRRRR!

They go back to their warm coop *Well, they don't go in the snow* and they have snow all over

They do seem to have a sweet tooth! I just figured it would be way too cold for them, but they seem to enjoy it.

I just read your page and I can see why you said Slurpy! Sorry for your loss of Speckles, but it sounds and looks like she gave you much joy. Chickens are certainly more human than we know.

My chickens love snow. They never drink the water I bring them. I guess God made them so when the water freezes in the wild they can eat snow and be okay.

All of mine are still holed up in the coop! It's been 4 days now and they are fine right where they are I guess.

I wondered if the snow would be bad for them if they ate too much, I know we aren't supposed to eat snow (especially yellow snow

) but melt it before we do so as not to get hypothermia.
It should be mostly gone if it warms up tomorrow like they say, we will see.
