I purchased two white turkey poults this weekend, that a local feed store just happened to have (they only had these two). When I asked what breed the lady told me "I don't know...White turkeys!"

so, I'm at a loss as to what they are and if they are broad breasted or not. They didn't look that great (very "homely") when we got them and the smaller one had trouble standing and walking at first, but has gotten better, and one was much taller than the other. Anyways, I am not sure of the age but I would say 3 to 4 weeks old compaired to the 3 week old bronze I have. These are my first turkeys and so far a huge learning experience...way different than my chickens!

Can anyone tell by looking at these pics what they could be or is it too early?

If they are from a feed store, then they are most likely Broad Breasted Whites. That's what they would generally order unless a customer had special ordered something.

Yea that is what a friend of mine told me as well. My only thing is I am not sure these were ordered or if someone brought them in becuase they don't generally have turkeys. Not to mention if they were ordered why didn't the lady know what they were. I do have a feeling though that they might be BBW...but won't lie that I am hoping other wise, becuase I would like to get into breeding them eventually. I had 2 standard bronze, but lost one this past Sat :(

If you got them from a feedstore, they are most likely broad breasted whites...other option being midget whites. You will know when full grown... Midget white toms 20 lbs give or take... BB whites toms well over 30. Yuors may be a little small sounds like they had a rough start.

They look the same as my BBWs when I got them from a local feed store they were about 4-5 weeks of age. I think(in my opinion) most feed stores would be selling the BBWs.
