Hello
I have a rooster and three hens of game birds. All are white. I was expecting that chicks from theirs eggs should have been pure white like their parents but they are not.. They have blaxk and vrown leakages in them.

What is the cause?
What should i do to get fully white chicks..

That spot on male shoulder is artificial color.

I know white can be hiding other colors under neath... so maybe your cock and hens both have something hiding under their white.

I also know there are differences between dominant or recessive white and some breeds carry one or the other.. but since I am kinda weak in the genetics area, let try and grab a couple folks who I'm sure will be able to give a more coherent explanation than mine  ...

@sylviethecochin (so glad I can finally remember it's a Y), @nicalandia, @The Moonshiner ... always enjoy reading y'all's posts and even bookmark them for reference sometimes... thanks for sharing your passion! :highfive:

Recessive white takes two copies to be expressed and with two copies it covers everything.
Dominate white with two copies covers a lot but doesn't cover gold/ buff/ red etc. With one copy it can do a decent job but usually lets black, blue, brown etc. leak through some what.
I'd suspect one side of your pairing may be dominate white and the other side recessive white.
With that cross the recessive isn't being expressed at all and the one copy of dominate isn't covering everything.

Thank you for the reply. Will changing roo help?
