We are building a chicken coop for our first ever chickens and we would like to whitewash the inside of their coop. However, there are so many lime products that we are confused.
Most articles say to use hydrated lime Ca(OH)2, we thought we found it but after we brought it we noticed it said dolomitic hydrated lime Ca(OH)2Mg(OH)2 and Ca(OH)2MgO. Is this safe to use as whitewash?

Hydrated lime is more concentrated and can be caustic. Wear gloves. The hydrated will dissolve better in water (already has been) making the better white washing product.

Wear a dust mask when mixing it too.
