Who am I? Need Breed ID for mystery red pullet

Maybe Papa Roo just prefers Blondes to Redheads even if he has to play escape artist ...

If she came from ideal, she shouldn't be a cross - should she? I know they breed some purposeful crosses (sexlinks, california white, etc), but I don't think they would have any breeding accidents there.

No, there shouldn't be crosses from a hatchery(unless you count EEs and sexlinks), but I cannot think of a red bird with white legs that Ideal sells. I mean, just think of birds with white legs/skin and then make that go with the color on this pullet. Maybe I'm brain dead, but I just can't match the plumage color with the legs.

Yep...that's why it was baffling me too. In a perfect world, my hatchery BO should be 100% BO. But, her plumage says NHR or RIR and her skin/legs say BO.

I just think it's more likely that someone escaped (even at a hatchery) than my little chicken has some sort of "specialness" in her genes.

I think she's probably a production red and her legs will turn color as she gets older. If you scroll down to the chicks on this page, you'll see that there are some with pale legs:

Here's ideal's production red page - adults are pictured with yellow legs, chicks' legs are not:

Same with their RIR page, although the chicks pictured are a lot darker than the PRs.

Since your chick was buff, a production red, instead of RIR, would be my guess.
