Who breeds chickens on here?

I breed for my own stock, mostly trying to make beautiful, unique roosters. I'd like to breed and sell family friendly roosters someday. I've got some real sweet ones now, but I'd like to see if the next generations can inherit it as well.

What got me into breeding was how fun it was to hatch my own chickens vs store bought. :p

My chickens breed themselves, I just hatch their eggs out if broody hens do not take them all for themselves. I do a lot of cross breeding for different purposes. As far as Pure bred... so far I have only bred Red Pyle Old English Game Bantams. I should be breeding Dorkings in my next hatch and Ayam Cemanis come spring. For now its mostly my own version of black Sex Links (Black Copper Maran over Cuckoo Maran) An Olive Egger project, a few meat bird experiments with Red Ranger Hens with high meat quality breed Roosters. And some Red Sex Links (production Red over Columbian Wyandottes and Delawares). I try to breed Seramas but something always goes wrong. I have a 2nd couple of Seramas still maturing and maybe she won't lay soft shells 90% of the time. Although I am starting to believe that its my fault because I was giving them too many scratch grains and she probably filled up on them instead of eating the egg laying rations.

I breed bantam barred Phoenix. I breed them for my own fun really. I sell hatching eggs and chicks but just enough to keep my wife content with my chicken addiction :D. I enjoy breeding to improve feathering, color, and type.

My next generation of breeders. Working on getting the dark barring in my cocks rather than the lighter color of my original roo. So far so good. My first generation that threw a dark barring on the roo. These are about 3.5 months.

Interesting! I've never seen the barred Phoenix. I've got some bbr Phoenix. The original breeding stock came from Boggy Bottom. View attachment 1595904
Beautiful birds! The barred color is fairly new I believe. I think they started with silver duckwing phoenix and crossed with grizzled flytie birds. I'm planning on crossing some genetic hackle birds back in to improve feathering.

Do you sell any eggs or chicks yet?
