For the feather dusters you can just find any old-looking, sturdy stick about the right size for a handle(the more rustic looking, the better) and cut off the bottom even, drill a hole(approx. 1 in. deep) and glue a goodly bunch of rooster tail or bigger, fluffier feathers into the hole and let it dry well. Then layer on your other, larger, softer curved feathers using glue, around the end of the wand until you get a goodly "head" of fluffy feathers. Then wrap the whole bunch tightly with butcher's twine or jute with nice, even, flat and tight binding. Tuck the last bit into the line before and trim off any frayed ends. Glue that end well into place. I further seal that wrap with some polyurethane just to keep the fibers from fraying or unraveling.
I don't have any pics handy of these things and they've all been gifted or sold. I will be making more this summer and hope to get pics then.
The book marks I make on cardstock and usually just print off a Bible verse about a sparrow, or even a line of poetry or from a book, about feathers. I glue a small, dainty feather to the card at a strategic place and it looks sweet and simple. Punch a hole, string in some cording, usually hemp, and it makes a pretty bookmark. I've found that laminating them takes away from the texture and softness of the feather, so I don't do that.
