Bantam Cochin Chicks

I picked up my first 7 Red Stars this afternoon. They are happy and seem to like their new home. They sure do sleep a lot! I'll add a pic later.

I ordered my 44 chicks from Ideal. 2 different orders. 10 chicks 3 barred rocks,3 white rocks, 3 buff rocks and 1 partridge rock cockrel plus 14 for warmth but they couldn't tell me the breed of the warmth. Second order was just 10 partridge rocks pullets 10 for warmth and same thing. I only lost 1 and it was from the 2nd order. We fell in love with the barred rocks they where the friendliest so we got 3 more from my feed store. They came from McMurray. They are they same age as the part rock pullets but have totally different personallities. The Part rocks like to be held and eat from my hand but the 3 barred from McMurray are real slow to trust and explore. They kinda stay at the back of the brooder. I keep LifeLytes out and they have seemed to perk up a bit but they're still a lil different. The first 24 are 21/2 weeks old and the 2nd's are 1 1/2 week olds. 2 of the buff's and 1 barred go crazy when I walk in running around and cheeping until I open the brooder and they can jump up and get to me. As soon as I can get my hand near them they jump on and climb up to sit on my shoulder. My wife hates it cause they don't do the same for her.
