who else has eggs cooking???

Is there anyway to drain or remove water? Like soak some up?? If so, do that instead of cracking lid..if not, crack the lid..I use still airs, but have heard of fans scalping chicks so if it were me, I'd turn it off..I think with the humidity up that high, it's probably not going to dry them out tho

I would try to get the humidity down to about 70 if you can.

Going to try to tag her in this post..if it doesn't work..PM her..she is the hatching guru..
@SallySunshine

She is the author of the Hatching 101 and all its branch offs.and knows more about hatching than I ever will I'd say

I've got a clutch of about 10 eggs under a year old buff Orpington who is broody for her first time. I'm on my 3rd day for half of them, and 2nd day for the other half. It's my first time ever hatching so I hope I get at least one chick!

Humidity here today is 54 outside. What are safety holes? I'm always willing to take advise:) I have a friend who says he won't help them...either they hatch or they don't. He just had 4 out of 29 hatch! Maybe he should have intervened

I hope you do too! I've never had a hen go broody. If I did, I'd slip some eggs under her:) I don't have a rooster so I have to buy hatching eggs. Well I have a cockerel now but he can't get the job done yet:)

Safety hole is just a small hole made into the air cell so that if they don't pip to the outside then they still get air

I will always intervene if I think it will help..I know it may still end up in me having to cull a chick but I'd rather take that chance then loose them all.

4/6 have hatched so far and the other two have pipped. Upon further inspection, one of them seems to have pipped right through an active blood vessel. It looks like I've gotten the bleeding to stop, but I don't know what's going on inside the egg. It isn't very clear and I won't be able to take a look without doing more damage. I'm not quite sure why, but 3 of the 4 that have fully hatched were malpositioned.
Time will tell.
