who else has eggs cooking???

Ahgh! Went out to take some pictures of my new homemade incubator.
The stc-1000 temp controller malfunctioned and has literally
cooked my eggs! Temp was 78c.That's about 175 F.Looks like I'm going to have to get another controller and start over.
Uggh!

I have 5 on day 8, and just slipped 3 more in. if fertile due on the 23.

I am on day 13 with 9 in the 'bator. Two quit on me early (had 11). They are all barnyard mutts except for 2 full bred white bresses.

I just put 37 eggs in my brand new Christmas gift--the HovaBator 1588 w/automatic turner! So pumped! 23 barnyard mixes of my own, 8 pure RIR from a friend, and another 6 barnyard mixes from another friend.

I am calling this my "trial run" and plan to sell off the babies ASAP, but it is REALLY fun having my first set of eggs to wait for!

I put them all in between 9am-noon this past Tuesday, so that doesn't actually count as day 1, right? So I'm on day 3 right now.

We put 48 RIR eggs in the "egg incubator" on December 8. We are now into day 25 and we only have 5 hatched eggs with two more just starting to pip. The hatchery mailed our eggs to us on Friday, Dec. 5. We picked up eggs at the post office Monday, Dec. 8. We let them rest for about 14 hours before start of incubation. So the eggs sat in a mail truck all weekend without any heat. Would this affect the hatch-ability?
