Who else is setting... I wanna see pics!

As per the recommendation on this thread I'm building the incubator to use as a hatcher for my overstock of incubating eggs! What will I ever do with 60+ chicks??? Did I mention that I live on 1/10 of an acre within the city limits??

My first wave of Coturnix quail get switched to hatch on Tuesday.... yeah!!!!

The bridge isback inplace...again...soIcangettoasecond 1/3 of the land. The last 1/3 of the three acress is pretty boggy.

Good news is that quail do not take up much room.
I lost count when transferring. I think there are now over 40 in the brooder. I just set 30 + of my own quail eggs....

I said to my daughter "I just want one breed of chickens"

It's all the hatchery's fault...they sent the wrong birds twice.....had noting to do with getting two incubators.
I want a cabinet style one now.....

Yeah - I have a $70 Black copper maran roo - and he hates me

But not to the point where I fear him, more like we toy with each other. My hubby wants me to get rid of him, but I will never recoup my money. I want to keep him for darker egged black layers.

My buttons go to the hatcher on Tues or Wed.
Quail are small. You can fit a hundred or so in a space that would be comfortable for only a dozen chickens.
I hope one of the new MF eggs hatches. Right now I have Fjior in with the silkies. They get along well, but I think she knows she's different.

insiderart - That chick looks like it's gonna be a purty one! Sorry to hear that your hatch went... not so well.

Did you get the HOD sorted out?
It's always the expensive ones that go wrong...

Oh yeah I took the "Hatcher of DOOOoooM" back to TSC. Now I have a Brinsea Eco and a Genesis 1588. I don't think it's the incubators this time. It's a cute little thing, it's still in the brinsea and sits there with it's face glued to the window cuddled up with it's cat. I can tell this single chick thing is going to be a piece of work.

I can't wait to see the quail! I bet they are tiny.

And 2tx has the prettiest egg set up I've seen in a long time.
