Who else is setting... I wanna see pics!

I would just let it be.
One of mine "bleed out" when it managed to catch on the wire or a shell somehow. Just let it dry by itself for a day or so.

I finally got the buttons moved but feel bad.......I had moved one chick and was looking for a way to move more all at once and one of the cats jumped in the new pen and left with it...

The chick I was waiting on and waiting on is still not out. So I removed the 5 good dry ones and just removed a bit more shell and left it.

After I rest and do hay I will try to get a picture of chicks and button pen. Pen is not finished but I wired over the top so I could move them.

Not a good time to be sick...

ok Update on my hatch TROUBLE IN PARADISE:

Feeling sick today so I layed down after I check on everything...sick baby is now standing and doing better still looks bad but stays standing up, and even when it doesnt want to lay down, it props itself on the bator and falls asleep. So its trying...I did wash it wing off so the baby could balance better having two wings.

Ok now the problem, went and took a nap, have the crude...slept 3hrs..went to check on my bator when I got up....my temp was 96.1!!!!!!

Have a chick hatching out...and humidity is up at 65% and temp is now 99.1...coming back up...So did this hurt the rest of my eggs? I dont know how long it was like this...THIS IS DAY 21!!!! and I still have eggs in there. The eggs from Ma she didnt think would make it cause her hens are young..she wanted to try and thats about 12 eggs...but I have good eggs and I still have 5 that nothing.

Should I open them??? should I just wait, Im afraid this temp hurt it.

My button home is on the front porch. It's a converted guinea pig house. It needs cleaned out after being in my mom's basement for who-knows-how-many years. I'm going to put them all in there until I can set up somewhere to put an aquarium in my daughter's room. Then the white buttons are going to her room & the dark ones are going in my son's room.
The cortunix are going to go into a rabbit hutch in the den until theyre big enough to go into the pen in the barn.
The chicken chicks... who knows... only one pip so far. I'm not expecting much from this hatch, but I'm still disappointed with how it's going.
Farrier! - What's the final word on your ebay shipped eggs? I really hope mine get moving. Of the final 9 that made it to day 18, I am realistically thinking I only have a chance on 7 of them. It's almost day 22. I think I'll take the seller's offer on replacement eggs. I was really looking forward to the salmon faverolles.
Well, it's not over yet.
Wish me luck!

My hatcher is set at 97.5 and that's the temp my eggs have been in since lockdown.
A few hatching books I have suggest a hatching temp of 95 degrees. I'm confident that the 96.1 didn't hurt them at all.

I sure hope so, its been crazy with me sick...and then that one baby!...Im starting to think this hatch is not gonna turn out good, for me Im looking at temp going up and down too much...

So I guess I'll leave the other eggs in and HOPE for the best...but it is day 21....and the mins tick tock away.

Isn't it weird? I had those Olive Egger hatch last week and now the next wave of chicks are in and I still kind of don't believe that they will hatch. I have one pip but no more action. It's weird to think that there are live chicks in there? Nature is amazing. So many factors and yet so many hatch fine. It seems a little SciFi somehow.

Well had one more hatched, it was moist, but I noticed that the shell was still stuck..I looked, no big deal it was connect by its vent area so I left that alone, but..I noticed that his wings, and one side of the body had left mucous on it and was starting to dry...was real sticky....

got warm water, towel and tweezers..and gently pulled it off, it was worse than glue that means it would have ended up like my little sick one, minus the the blob out of its vent area. So cleaned it up, and left it connect to the last part of the shell to let it discard that on its own..

have another that has pip BUT THAT IS THE ONLY ONE!!!!! leaves me with still 15-16 left to hatch!!!

So if this one was born kind of sticky, does this mean all of them are doing this in there shell? and should I help them come out??? Im at the end of day 21

It could be that all the helping & cleaning you're doing is dropping the humidity & compounding the problem.
I would just leave them be.
You can always clean them up after they've been out a couple of days. It won't hurt them to be a little sticky.

Hooray I have a silkie ..
I have been watching and not getting much sleep. but was glad I did stay ,
and watch in between getting my snacks.LoL
I saw some movement . left
for a few minutes and came back to find a white silkie just
moving here and there completly out of the shell,
and resting, so I am now a C.J. silkie owner.
