I would just let it be.
One of mine "bleed out" when it managed to catch on the wire or a shell somehow. Just let it dry by itself for a day or so.
I finally got the buttons moved but feel bad.......I had moved one chick and was looking for a way to move more all at once and one of the cats jumped in the new pen and left with it...
The chick I was waiting on and waiting on is still not out. So I removed the 5 good dry ones and just removed a bit more shell and left it.
After I rest and do hay I will try to get a picture of chicks and button pen. Pen is not finished but I wired over the top so I could move them.
Not a good time to be sick...
