Who else is waiting for that first egg?

Well it looks like I have picked the breed that lays much later than all of yours... My 14 australorps are going on 20 weeks old and nobody is even interested in the nesting boxes...

FWIW - 20 weeks and no interest is not at all unusual or indicative of being late-bloomers --- dual purpose breeds such as your girls will generally average 22-26 weeks for the most part.

I've got 18 week old RIRs (production). One of them has a larger and redder comb and waddles, so she may be close.

Well, I sure did not know that when I got these little critters... well I would have got them anyway...lol

Busy day around here for our girls got four eggs today. Although one could be a couple days old and been missed as it was hidden in the shed. One of our Easter eggers, Belle, laid her first egg today a beautiful tiny light blue thing I'm sure it's her as she is the only EE we have that seems close. She is 17 or 18 weeks I believe, I know I'm lucky. I am tickled pink. :) one of our Isa browns sliced a toe pad pretty badly today so we had to fix her up. Poor girl did so good. It's a real nasty cut and didn't want to stop bleeding. I'm hoping she recovers real quick as I was having trouble finding specific ideas as what to do.

That is a quarter next to the pale blue egg. Will her egg get any darker? This is her first.

Something that works good to stop bleeding is dipping their foot into flour. My rooster had a toenail that got ripped and I had to cut it off his toe and I used flour and it worked great to clot the blood.

What a great tip about the flour. My flock free range all day and regularly have nicks and cuts on their feet...will def use this idea, thanks.
