Who else loves to hear their roo crow?

I love to hear it too, since it means all's well with the flock. Mine often wakes up to crow once around 4:30am. We have a baby monitor in the coop, so you first hear a thump-thump-thump when he flaps his wings to warm up, then the crow. Now that he's two years old, he usually goes back to sleep after that, until it gets light. When he was younger, he'd keep doing it for up to twenty times in a row.

I recorded his crow with my phone, and use it as an alarm sound for chicken-related reminders. One of my long-term projects is to try to capture some of the other sounds they make - each one has their own distinctive voice.

I'm always a little anxious in the am if I wake up and haven't heard Shiner crow yet. I always think "Why isn't he crowing?" .. followed by a sick feeling that something has gotten into the coop ... followed by his sweet little crow (he really isn't obnoxious) .. followed by my thinking "Whew, there he is." .. and a smile.

Oh good so I am not the only person who loves the sound! I dont have any roos but I still love the sound and if i did I would enjoy every crow he did

Love to hear the crows. We will be slightly diminishing the number of crowers here soon, but I still love it. My husband and I both love it, we have no close neighbors, so if they hear, it is in the distance and I don't think problematic.

Me too! Unfortunately, mine can start making attempts at his sunrise crowing as early as 3AM!!!!! Then I just want to shoot him! Then he'll take a shot at 4am, 5am and kick in high gear at 6am. But if he doesn't crow all night, I wake up happy and then worried...... Hardly makes a peep during the day......AAARGH!

I love to hear them. I have a roo just learning right now. I hope he does not turn mean.

Because I am a little afraid of roosters.

I could not wait till he started, I was so excited when I first
heard him crow.

Now I leave my kitchen window cracked so I can hear him in
the morning.

I have also heard of people putting baby monitors in the coop
and putting the reciever in their room to use as alarm clocks. To
wake up to their roo crowing.

The roo will crow every morning faithfully no need to worry about
the power going out and turning off the alarm.

Maybe it is worth a try
