who else thinks the holidays are going to be hard

thanks, we need it ( just venting here helps)...

i did go spend sometime today at my nephew's grave site making it clean and ready for a Christmas blanket a friend is making and bringing. i also bought a dollar tree and a dollar's worth of ornaments with it for him. i felt such peace there this morning in the pouring rain. i will try to hold that peace in my heart, remembering what a happy child he always was and how now he has no more pain.

then i stopped and had coffee with my brother and my niece. she is thrilled to come make ornaments for the birds etc. she wanted to know if we could make some for the deer too. (???) i said sure but now i gotta figure that out. lol.

thank you all for caring!

Ornaments for deer?? Try apples with peanut butter stuffed into the corded out center stick them on to small limbs or place them on the ground..... They LOVE my apple trees..

I've had "Hurricane Trajedy" hit my life in the past, too. Detailing it wouldn't serve any purpose, but I can offer something that helped. I got my concordance and found every scripture that mentioned "joy" or "rejoice." Then I read them aloud every day. It made all the difference. PM me if you want the list.

Your kids won't remember their presents, but they will remember your love. Hold on.

This is a song that my daughters and I sing at church. Maybe the words will help you as it has helped us. We love it

The Father has a plan, though its hard to see it now
when you feel your walking all alone, He is there, no doubt
when the storm around you rages, and your tossed to and fro
when your faced with life's decisions, not sure which way to go......

When the enemy surrounds you, and the walls are closing in
when the tide is swiftly rising, and you wonder where He's been
Friend, there never was a moment, when His arms weren't reaching out
you can rest assured, you can secure that God is moving right now

Stand still, and let God move
standing still is hard to do
when you feel you have reached the end
He'll make a way for you
stand still and let God move

If I had one wish this Christmas, it would be for your family to have a time of peace, calm and a feeling of safety. I'm so sorry you and your children have had such a stressful time, on top of everything else.

They need a hug smiley on this forum that is A LOT bigger.

The tidbit I can help with is deer treats. I think there are recipes online for horse treats, that would be good for deer. I think flavors like apple and molasses would be popular. Horses, sheep and goats like those. Any grain could be added, too. The base could be some type of dough, like horse and dog treats are made of. Any combination of flour, cornmeal or oats would work. How sweet of your niece to think of the deer, too. She must have a very loving heart.

Christmas time is indeed can be a stressful time. People don't realize that not everyone is in a joyous spirit. There are people who have lost loved ones the previous year, lost their jobs, have serious illnesses and etc. We make the season to much of a materialistic one and not the religious holiday it should be. There is way to much attention to buying gifts. I myself have made homemade gifts in the past or baked goods. I shop at goodwill and there is a lot of neat little toys found in the dallor bill stores. I give to to the salvation army, not much maybe 50 cents or a dallor but you be surprised that people that have a lot more give nothing. It is hard for children when they are surrounded by their peers at school getting exspensive gifts.

thanks so much!! the feeling is so much appreciated, more than u realize.

seana is a cool little kid, she is doing ok after losing her lil brother. she has the simple faith of a child, which helps me find mine.
she loves (and pets) the dead deer my silly brother has mounted in his living room. he hunts, and farms and she is all up in that mix. she loves all animals but understands the cycle of life sorta stuff.
