I really want some cayugas but I dont want to to have to meet metzer farm's $35 min and Holderread has the 10 duckling min. I could get some cayugas and snowy mallards from ideal and it would be around $35 including shipping. What are your thoughts?

I've ordered from them before and spilt it. We ended up giving the two we kept from that order away mostly because they were bonded to each other and didn't like living inside with our other ducks. I've had a friend who's had nothing but bad luck on small orders with them lately, but it could be just because it's still cold where she's at. I've heard other complaints, but I've also heard a lot of good things from them. I wish they sold more crested runners... They used to sell black created runners... le sigh....

I ordered from them Once. I ordered a magpie, cayuga, and blue swede. I got a magpie, cayuga, and black swede.

Nope, I didnt want to go through the hastle when I was just happy that I got three healthy babies

Although I would have loved another Blue swede.

Not sure if this is a more recent development, but Ideal has a disclaimer for their Blue Swedish ducks: "Any blue variety ordered from Ideal Poultry may include black, blue or splash chicks."

I've ordered Cayugas from Ideal as well as a runner duck and buff geese. The Cayugas were great- lots of character. The "runner" wasn't much of a runner. It had the correct coloration - fawn and white - but never had the upright carriage of a runner duck. Anyway, they came in two different orders and all arrived healthy. As a matter of fact, they even threw in an extra Cayuga, so I ended up with three instead of two.

I have an order for the end of April - 8 ducks - my 1st time ordering from them so I'm hoping for a good outcome.

I'll let you know how it turns out. I ordered chicks from Welp last September, but went with Ideal for this order.
