We have 14 of them. 3 whites, 4 purples, 4 lavenders and 3 pearls.
They tend to bunch up in group and stick together.
We call them the "unimind" as I takes all of them to make one brain.
We really enjoy them. they come down to the house for treats and make a heck of a racket. They alert to hawks and other predators and the chickens all know that when the guinea fowl are upset, they need to be on the look out.
They all come into roost at night in the barn with the chickens.
I do not think they are any problem whatsoever and they LOVE ticks, something the chickens just seem to ignore.
Now, this is just MY experience with them. Others seem to think them mean and when in the group they attack their chickens.
In one case, it was the other way around with me. I had a young guinea fowl that I introduced to the barn. One morning I found her in the pen dead. It looked like the chickens in the "silkie pile" got her.
