Who has had good luck with buying a coop online?

Oh, about the lift kit, our county requires all coops to be 2 feet off the ground, so we had no choice... I will let you know when it gets here.
Thanks! I'm anxious to hear your thoughts. The one I want is backordered until July, which isn't a problem...but there isn't a way to order it online at the sale price. I've sent in an email through their "contact me" section. I'm waiting for some $$ to arrive, but once that does, I might just call them and see about ordering - my chicks aren't even hatching until July so the backorder isn't an issue.

I would keep looking on Craigslist, I have seen where people post bigger ones for over $400 but can build what you are looking for so perhaps if you contact them and state your budget and number of chickens you could get one made for that amount!

I am looking, but all of them do not include delivery and 99% of them do not include a run. I can put together something in a kit, but I do not have the tools or ability to construct something from scratch. Because of the neighborhood where I live, it must look nice - cannot be a piecemeal thing, or I will lose the ability to keep my chickens. I do not have any way to get something delivered, especially not that big. So having it delivered to my home is a huge consideration. There are real advantages to pre-made coops sometimes.

I ordered the CC-18-R1 coop from www.cconly.com on Mother's Day and it arrived yesterday. I will be using it for a temp home for my 8 little girls. I chose this one because it is small enough to actually move on a trailer when the time comes. I am moving to another home towards the end of June but my girls are getting much too big for their brooder. They are cramped and need some room and I need my kitchen back. I will assemble the coop tomorrow and water seal it and then put it in the back yard for now. I just removed an above ground pool so the area where it will be kept is already grass free and I can add some hardware cloth and cinder blocks to the bottom for extra protection from predators. It has a small run but will be ok for now as I also have a portable run that will attach to it. I bought that separate. I know it is a lot of expense for a temp coop, but I can always use it later as a brooder for more chicks or some ducks. Yes, I want some Cayuga ducks too! My daughter says I have OCD.....obsessive chicken disorder! Huh? Is it contagious??

I am getting this coop. I did major research online and feel this is a great product. It is supposed to ship this week and requires assembly but seems very easy, we will see. It is more than your budget but in the long run probably worth it. Many of the online coops seem cheap and flimsy and won't last, this one seems like it is better designed and well made from western cedar. I also think it looks great and doesn't shout CHICKEN COOP!

If you live in Austin they are located nearby in Dripping Springs, TX. Good luck.

Those are very nice - a little higher than my budget...but definitely an alternative if the other ones don't work out. I'd want the extension with it since I can't free range. But very nice looking!
