I am beginning to believe double yolkers are folk-lore, and all these pix are photoshpped. I have had my chickens over a year now and have yet to have a double yolker...

I had a few when my hens first started laying. You could always tell by the shape of the egg. They were always more football shaped then egg shaped.

Sorry, I don't have a pic.

When I first got my chickens, my friend told me "wait to you get a double yolker." I still haven't had a hen lay one yet. The only double yolk I have seen was from a store bought egg. Maybe this year...

I've only gotten double yolkers from my RIR and Red Star hens.

None of my current flock have given me double yolkers.

I've had 2 or 3 from my EE. All during her first few months of laying. None of my other 6 hens have laid any.

I have 5 New Hampshire Reds that produce double yolkers at least a couple times a week, and I have an EE that just gave me one today. I havent cracked it but I can tell by the shape, it almost looks like two eggs that got fused together...which essentially is what it is. If I think of it Ill grab a picture of it, its huge!! My DBF found it in the basket and couldnt believe how big it was.

We also before we had our own chickens, used to buy from a local farm that would sell the biggest eggs I have ever seen, and 9 times out of 10 the entire tray was all double yolkers. I should have asked what breed they were.
