Who Has NEVER gotten a Double-Yolker???

I've gotten double-yolkers from EE's (one of those hens laid a double every other day), RIR's and most recently from one of my Buff Orpingtons. All of her eggs LOOK like doubles--long & skinny, but only one so far had two yolks. I don't think I've ever bought a double though.

We had a couple of double yolkers right when our chickens were laying their very first eggs.

Later we had one GIANT egg and it had two yolks, but now they are all single yolkers it seems.

Never had a double yolker... NEVER want one either though. I would think, my own silly thought no science behind it, that if you had a double yolker that chicken would be more likely to become egg bound. You know a egg that big would be more easy to get stuck.

We have laying hens and get a few double yolkers every week. The red sexlinks are the ones that lay the doubles for us.

I Get Double Yolkers Quite Regular. I Think Its Mostly The Sexlinks That Lay Them .i Feel Sorry For Them Because Its A Big Egg, No Wonder Alice Goes Around Bak Bak Ing All The Time..

Me. *sniff sniff*.

I have never even SEEN a double yolker in person. Get crackin', girls!! (Although I'm just happy they're laying now in the middle of winter!

I haven't. I've also never had a broody, from a supposedly broody breed.

I have a young Blue Cochin hen that lays a double yolker everytime she lays. Hoping it's just her age and she'll work out of it since I want to hatch her eggs. I did see a video on youtube of a lady helping a double yolker hatch. There were two lives chicks. The other double yolker she helped was one live and the other dead and a little deformed. Interesting though since I thought you couldn't hatch double yolkers. I guess it's a gamble but wouldn't want to bother with it myself.
