Who has Red Silkies?

This is Roo Paul (because he is so pretty). I actually just recently gave him to a friend cause I can't have roosters in my backyard flock. I think I might have the email of the lady I bought him from, she had a few red ones like this (I'm so sad Roo Paul turned out to be a boy!). We are in Northern Virginia.

Good luck with your reds minus the black? I have yet to see one that wasn't a photochop. A completely "red" european silkie I would like to see with my own eyes!...I don't bring this up alot but I am professiona photographer and I do keep up with photoshop all the way back to Aldus. If all you want are darker buffs with some black then go for it because that is your european "red"" Wow and to think I was going to give those chickens away!

Rareroo - I PMed you

Poultryinmotion - Do you mean the black on the tail? I thought that was just a rooster thing. The lady I got Roo Paul from had a bunch of red silkies. This one didn't have black tail feathers until it decided to be a rooster (I guess it was a rooster all along, but whatever). She had others that were just as red and there wasn't any black on them. Maybe they all get some black when they get older?

I thought Cathryn was taking a few months off of shipping eggs, due to the cold. I would love to have some of her beauties!

She told me she would have some eggs to sell right around Xmas time. Shoot her an email.

Thank you also, I talked to Jerry and joined his SCNA Forum, his were imported from Holland and he said they don't breed true, that they can range in color from citron yellow, to buff, to red, to mohagany, to black, I think I may like that though, he also said that his Holland type one are beardless and very broody which is another plus to me.

So thank you all for the info and I'll see who I decide to go with this spring.

I have red in my flock there just not of breeding age yet. I would like to add more but, it's hard to find nice one's. I have some nice one's right now. Yes they are bearded. I searched everywhere to find them. The lady I got them from sold me her whole flock of silkies and I got lucky and got a couple nice red ones.
Here is a pic of one of my little ones:
