OMG! To me, feet are the most disgusting things ever! My family will taunt me and like wave their dirty socks around, and it's sooooo nasty! They're always asking if they can take their shoes off in my car and I'm like absolutely not!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates feet! They're just wicked disgusting!!! EWWWWWWW!!!

Omg I didn't even think of parasites! Ticks, omg I fear them, I will NOT walk under a tree or walk near them when it's windy. My mom got lymes disease so it scares me and the way they stick in your body with that serrated mouth UGH it's so nasty. Internal parasites are one of my biggest fears, when I adopted my dog, the first week he was in the house he went on the floor... There were about 20 tapeworm segmants crawling through it, I couldn't breathe, I got goosebumps and I cryed for HOURS thinking I had them! I'm a huge hypochondriac especially when it comes to stuff like that. I was always at the nurse when I was in school to get my head checked for lice, It wasn't until after i was out of school my niece was visiting and passed them on to me!!! I cryed forever, I didn't sleep cause I didn't want them anywhere and I didn't even wanna wash my hair cause I didn't want them to touch my body, that's weird I know but it just freaked me out so bad. I got one of those electric zapper combs, which by the way works great! Get it if your kid ever comes home with the nasty things! It actually electrocutes the louse when it catches it in the tooth of the comb.

Talking about parasites, I fear flukes. They are the nasties, grosses things. My cat brought in a mouse on day, I thought it had given birth on the floor, but it was dead. I picked up what I thought was a baby mouse and it was moving, it was a liver fluke. These are nasty, they live in the liver of the animal and if the animal die it will burrow its way out and find water so it can reproduce. I have seen this happen twice, and it freaks me out to know they are around. So far the cat's haven't got any.

If I had that phobia, I certiantly wouldn't be able to keep my leopard gecko, Salvatore- that's what he eats! Live. So I hve a little cage of them in my room.

Well, I don't feel so awkward about my phobias now. I love balloons, don't mind feet, and enjoy long words. Spiders and snakes are my best friends. In fact, I want a tarantula and as many snakes as I can get my fingers on. But these are the conversations that follow:
ME: "Mom, can I have a tarantula?"
MOM: "No."
ME: "Pleeeease? I'll get it de-venomed and besides, they're fuzzy!"
MOM: "Yeah, right. When you move out of the house."
ME: "Why?"
MOM: "Because I said so!"

or:

ME: "Mom, can I have a ball python?"
MOM: "You already have a lizard!"
ME: "But-"
MOM: "No. nonononono."
ME: "Why?"
MOM: "Because I said so!"

somehow she always manages to have the last word: "Because I said so!" Ah well. Go figure; when she was my age she wanted a SKUNK!

Congratulations, Dodgegal, you have just given me nightmares.

Oh, I forgot Gypsy Moth caterpillars. Every 7 years it seems they are really bad. 1981 was one year that was particularly bad. I was a senior in HS and was driving to the beach in a convertible with some friends and they were dropping on us from the trees. EW! When I was 11 my father had company from out of town during a horrible heat wave. We took them to the town lake to cool off but the catepillars were everywhere! Even in the middle of the lake they were dropping on us. And floating on the surface of the water. Oh, ick, I have to stop now....
I just ran across an earwig and remembered I have to add that to my ever growing list. Sheesh!

Rhett&SarahsMom :

There is also one that used to freak me out going to Emerald isle in NC

I hear ya on this one. I've been over that bridge several times and its scary!

My biggest ones are rickety bridges that you find on country roads, rope bridges that swing and sway, and bodies of water I can't see through(when I am swimming) and feeling grass or mud in said bodies of water.

Roaches wig me out completely. Just thinking about them send shivers up my spine. I don't know why, other bugs and creepy crawlies don't bother me.

The phone thing really bothers me too. I hate calling people I don't know well. I was lead home room mom this year and I tried so hard to do everything by e-mail just so I wouldn't have to call people. It makes me very nervous and tense to phone people. When my then 16 year old niece had a summer job of telemarketing I was so impressed that she could do it. That kind of job would give me nightmares.

I'm not overly fond of hieghts either, but I can usually manage that one. At the top of the Empire State Building I had my back against the wall the whole time.
