Who here HATES their job???

ah, i work in a small scale trucking operation. I was supposed to be an office girl but have somehow ended up being the forklift driver/ handyman/ janitor.

I totally agree with the theory that any job is bearable when youre working with the right people. This is the first job ive ever had where i didnt feel total comradory or feel like ive developed a whole new family with my co-workers. In fact, the contrary... And my boss? holy cow... some days i just try my best to not look him in the eye, and my desk is right next to his office!

Im so desperate to get out of here that ive considered selling the car and the hens so i can be a stay at home caretaker, but my darling boyfriend says that if i give up the hens i will be miserable all over again and hes right

I feel badly for complaining about my job when there are so many people out there who are unemployed

But i would never wish this job upon ANYONE who needs a few bucks, lol!

augh, im a whiner now.

I just walked away from the most saught after job in this area... outside of government work, that is. It pays really well, but they use you up. I was absolutely miserable. Emotionally drained everyday was enough but on top of that it was physically demanding. Because of recent layoffs, what is left there is a bunch of older people. I'm in my late 20's and that speaks volumns of my work ethics that I got to go back after layoffs when others with more years in will most likely never get called back. Being the youngest on my team... guess who got all the work? Climb up, jump down, grab this, shoot that, run here, go there...

All that would be fine if you got a thank you once in awhile. So I just put in my notice one day. No job lined up. Nothing. They whined and begged for me to stay. They offered me cushy jobs. All too late.

I'm at TSC now. LOVE IT. Pay is better than you would think for part time, but nothing like I was making before and I don't regret it for one minute.

After being laid off from this job I haven't named... for two whole years mind you... I learned a few things... first, you don't need as much money as you think... second, you can make money just about anywhere if you are creative and want it enough... and thirdly, (and this one is now my mantra) Life is not meant to be spent doing 40+ hours a week of something that you are not passionate about JUST so the bills get paid.

I looked at those "old timers" at that job and they never smiled. So many in the years I have been there (with the two years laid off inbetween) have died or nearly died from heart attacks. Just in my last year there two men had fallen down from heart failure ON the job... did work stop? Nope. Find a replacement and keep going. They all talk about how they wish they could quit but they had kids and then they had 10 years in and then why stop then... might as well stay until retirement. Some (alot) get laid off or fired just before retirement. You think these companies appriciate you and your work!?! Not at all.

Sorry to rant, but I'm passionate about it. If you are miserable. Get out. I promise you... you can make it without that paycheck. You might have to simplify your life and your bills... but it's possible and you will be so much happier knowing you never have to step foot in that place again.

I once left a job I loved for a higher paying offer. Isn't it funny once you are there you realize why they have to pay you so much? I was unemployed for 3 months but never regretted it. I have moved on to bigger and better things now that give me more time at home and I make more money. Keep looking and you will find the right place for you. Don't sacrifice your happiness.

Gosh Im really surprised by how much support im getting here!
Im also glad that there are so many people out there who realize how imperitive it is to live your life and not get sucked in by work. I mean, i have no kids, no bills besides my car payment and rent, So responsibilities besides the pets. On top of that i have a roomate and a boyfriend who i split the rent with...Why not go find something part time! i would love to spend more time at home (and this may sound odd) cleaning and cooking and tending to the pets.

like i said, ive got the resignation letter in my glove compartment waiting to be dated and signed. Ive just gotta hit the pavement and make sure i have ANYTHING on backup first. I wish we had a TSC! that would be so cool! We have a couple feed stores but theyre very mom and pop i think...still would be worth trying!

BYCERS ARE THE BEST!

I'm a single mom and I work the very least amount of hours I can get away with to pay the bills so I can be home with my kids and pets. Life is way way way too short to be a slave to almighty dollar. I am also going to school one night a week to get a better job.. so I can work less hours

I am an LVN and I work anywhere from 1 to 3 shifts a week. When I get my RN in two years.. that is definitely going to go lower.. 1 MAYBE 2 shifts a week if I have to... work smarter not harder.....

Yeah, try your feed store first... ya never know.. your forklift experience now will probrably get you in the (back)door (that's a joke there about loading and unloading for those who missed it lol). Just wherever you would like to shop is a good start!!! lol. And the discounts... don't forget the discounts!!

You are more supported than you think. Just talk to people about it and you'll see that alot of people feel the same way... it's just some don't have the guts to go out and break away from what society always told you to do to be "successful"

I worked in Hell for three years, then told the witch that she either knocks off her crap or I leave. She took me up on my offer and since then I have had two completely INCREDIBLE jobs, the second one I am still at.

Well, hate to rain on everyone's pity party, but a lady ask me, yesterday, how the job was going....I'm building a shower, for an old couple...I told her, it's just another playground.
I get to get dirty, play in the mud, put stuff together, stack blocks on top of each other...I don't think I'm out of preschool, yet.
