Who here is NOT on FB?

I hate fb and never played any of the games. I do have an account because DD (in her 20's) is too 'busy' to talk to her parents unless she needs something. She lives 200 miles away, usually if we call her we get her horrid answering machine. At least with fb I can see that she appears to be ok. I have 24 friends. Most are family, a few are old friends, and one is a deceased friend. I ignore 'friend' requests from folks that I am not friends with in real life. I block all game applications because I don't want to wade through things like my SILs gazillion farmville things like 'Sally found a poor lost kitten. Oh no!' when I just went on to see if DD posted anything.

And I do have a cell phone, I got it right after I was on my way home from work at midnight in a blizzard and drove off the road in a white out. Fortunately a co-worker picked me up, it took both of us peering out the side windows looking for the lines on the road to get to his place where I was stuck for three days waiting for the weather to clear and the roads to open again. I didn't have a cell phone at the time and if the co-worker didn't drive by when he did... I would have to pay extra to text. but don't know how to anyhow and have no desire to learn. I use it as a phone, never drive and talk, and usually have it turned off.

Technology does have it's place... whithout it, I wouldn't have all of the great information that I found here on BYC.

I do have a FB account but only go there if I'm really really bored. I have too much to do in real life and I it would take away my time on BYC, which I consider part of real life! I am tempted to just close out FB completley. When I first signed up to FB I did connect with several people that I knew in passing in high school. But found I have no interest in staying in touch with them or they to me.

I don’t like it either. Just needed a FB account to market my farm. I don’t use it for any of that social stuff. Don't know how people like it, it bores me to death.

I don't do FB. My DH has one and after looking over his I think the majority of his "FRIENDS" would not give him the time of day outside of FB. I thought about it once, I thought it would be a good way to keep up with some folks I can't see often. Then I thought about all the people who never call, write, or try to make contact with me, if they ask to be my friend on FB I would have to ignore them.I decided if some one wants to be my friend they need to pick up the phone.

There are all of these people that I am related to but don't like on facebook.

So I got an account, but I pretty much avoid it. I can't get past the people I don't like to find anyone I DO like!

I got a Facebook just to keep in touch with my adult kids and to embarrass them, which I do on a regular basis. Once I got on Facebook, I looked up some of my favorite Authors (Science Fiction) and then my Avatar, same as here on BYC, got me friend requests from all over the world of a very eclectic mix. From Sci-fi fans, an Islamic woman to a transgendered activist to someone in New Zealand raising ducks. (And some UFO wackos)Even got some BYC friends from here where topics and pictures not allowed on BYC can be perused on facebook.

I didn't think I would have much use for Facebook either. I still don't have time to play the FB games---got no use for farmville pretend when I in reality have a garden and chickens to tend to.

I've no FB account. Am I the only person under 30 who does'nt have an account on FB ?? I knew a guy who used to spend 24/7 checking you ladies out.
